Heritage

The journey began in the 1970 when Dubai first experienced the phenomenal economic and commercial growth which still characterizes its development today. The development was spearheaded by the Rulers of Dubai, the Al Maktoum Family and supported by the trading skills of Dubai's prominent business families. Amongst these was the Abbasi Group, founded by the Abbasi family.

Mr. Ismail Akil Abbasi, the Group Chairman, began his economic activities in the 1990 when he started trading with his father. The family was the first to start a Textile business in addition to an Investment Group, Food business, and an aluminum mill.

The philosophy has always been to build strong foundations in major market areas, and so the focus was primarily on activities that would foster the economy of Dubai and UAE. This vision and drive paid off as the Group not only prospered from Dubai's rapid development, but actively contributed to it. In 2005 Mr.Ismail Abbasi received the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award under Re-Export category from H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Mr Abbasi is very fond of branded luxury items, As he had been to Europe and America for Education & Business purposes. From here he visioned to explore a new business dimension. Brand Souk is born.

The Group has evolved considerably over the last 40 years and, in the last five, we have consolidated our presence and reputation in the Region as one of the most dynamic and successful business groups. Today, in markets characterized by increasing volatility and change, Abbasi Group looks forward to the future with strong foundations underpinned by our heritage and culture.
